Migrating from another journal

How to move your trade history out of TradeZella, Edgewonk, or a spreadsheet and into Viktury using CSV import.

Moving from another journal does not mean starting from scratch. The cleanest path is to bring your raw trade history into Viktury and let it rebuild your analytics, rather than trying to copy across numbers a different tool already calculated.

Export from your current tool

Most journals and spreadsheets can export your data as a CSV.

  • TradeZella, Edgewonk, and similar tools have an export option in their settings or data section. Export your trade history rather than a summary or a report.
  • A spreadsheet is already most of the way there. Save the sheet that holds your individual trades as a CSV.

One thing worth knowing before you export: the most accurate source is almost always your exchange itself. If you can still pull the original fills from the exchange where you traded, that export will carry the cleanest entry and exit prices, fees, and funding. Another journal's export is fine, but it may already have rounded or reshaped the data.

Import into Viktury

Bring the file in through the CSV import flow. On the Add account screen, pick the exchange the trades came from, choose Upload CSV, name the account, and upload your file. Viktury parses it and shows you a preview with duplicate detection before anything is saved, so you can review and then commit or discard. The full walkthrough, including the export tips and common format issues, is in the CSV import guide.

What carries over

Your trades carry over: entries, exits, sizes, and the PnL Viktury computes from them. Stats are rebuilt on Viktury's side from those trades, so your equity curve, win rate, and R-multiples come back computed fresh.

Things that are specific to your old tool, like its private notes fields or its own tagging scheme, will not map automatically, since every journal models those differently. Plan to re-create your tags and playbooks in Viktury once your trades are in. If you have a large history and the import looks off, send us the file through the contact form and we will help map it.
