Track a Spot Fill as a Trade
Take one buy out of a spot holding and journal it like any other trade, while the rest of the balance stays on Holdings.
A small release, all of it about spot.
Track a spot fill as a trade. Spot balances live on Holdings, which is right for a position you are just holding and wrong for one you are actively trading. On a Holdings row from an exchange you sync over the API, you can now pick the buy you want to trade, keep or lower the quantity, add a note, and it moves to your open positions with the entry price and date from that fill. The rest of the balance stays on Holdings, so tracking part of a position no longer hides the rest of it. The note is what marks it as one you are actively trading, so it is required. Clear it again later, along with anything else you added to the trade, and the next sync puts the quantity back on Holdings. Accounts you imported from a CSV or a statement cannot do this yet, because we do not hold their individual fills, and you can track one buy per asset for now.
Filter the trade log by instrument. A Contracts, Spot or All selector above the trade log, so spot trades are reachable instead of being filtered out of the list.
